Homemade Kettle Corn

I love homemade kettle corn. It reminds me of going to the fair or market as a kid. It is ridiculously affordable and way better than the microwave kind!

Use a large heavy pot and add:

1/4 cup vegetable oil
a pinch of salt
1/2 cup popcorn kernels

Turn the pot onto medium-high, and cover with a lid.

Shake the pot occassionally as they warm up. Once they begin to pop add:
1/4 cup sugar (optional)
**white sugar will create a popcorn-ball flavor while brown sugar will be like caramel corn**

Continue shaking for about 3 minutes until the popping slows down. Pour out immediately into a bowl and serve!
