This is just a great tip to save yourself a little money. This is great for when you have a cold but Jonny gets allergies in the summer and it works like a charm for those too.
2 cups baking soda
2/3 cup water
approximately 15 drops essential oil (rosemary, eucalyptus, lavender)
muffin pan
muffin liners
Add baking soda to a bowl. Slowly add the water to make a thick paste. You may need another 1-2 Tbsp. Add the drops of essential oil. You may add more or less depending on your preference. Stir it in.
Pour the mixture into lined muffin tins. Let the mixture sit out over night. You may also bake it at 350F for 30 minutes.
When you have a shower just put the puck on the bottom of the tub. It will release the oils and clear out your head!
Great idea!! Thanks for sharing! I've enjoyed looking over your site.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I have to try these!
ReplyDeleteThis works a treat. Combining eucalyptus with mint is very eye opening and helps with decongesting airways. Tea tree is anti-bacterial/anti-viral and helps with infections. There's a blend on the market called Thieve's oil, which combines eucalyptus, lemon, rosemary, cinnamon and clove. It's potent, warming and soothing. Great for colds.
ReplyDeleteOr you could go a different way and combine citrus oils for a morning pick me up shower. Or lavender and rose for a soothing night time scent.
Clever idea... and I lolled at the "works like a Harm"
ReplyDeletelol! Ia also laughed when I read back through and saw that! Thank you! haha
Deletewhy are these called vicks where no vicks is used?
ReplyDeleteIt's a homemade version of the much more expensive Vicks disks you can buy at the store. All vicks is anyways is a bunch of oils mainly. So why not make your own and save a lot of money as well as leave out all the ingredients that aren't so good for you. So it's called "vicks" so that you can identify that it is a replica version of the ones you would normally purchase
DeleteThanks Mel! You are exactly right!
Deletetrying these today! Thanks so much!
